Each year Salt Lake County's Watershed Planning & Restoration Program welcomes its community of water stewards and environmental advocates to continue the conversation on water quality and watershed issues in Salt Lake County and beyond. The Watershed Symposium is a free conference made possible through collaboration with numerous individuals and agencies. The goal is to encourage a comprehensive review of the current state of our watershed, and facilitate networking for a broad array of stakeholders.

2024 keynote speaker, Brenda Bowen, shares how the challenges we face in water and climate demand new scales of alignment, collaboration, and innovation. She will ask the important question—what can our community do to be well prepared to meet the needs and opportunities in the coming decade? SLCo Mayor Jenny Wilson provides comments and introduces 2024 Keynote Speaker, Laura Hanson, Utah Governor’s Office of Budget and Planning, presents Utahns' preferences on how our communities should grow. Utahns were asked about Water, Housing, Transportation and Open Space. The survey results are in. Come learn what Utahn's said about how they want policy makers to manage water use in the state. Be prepared to contribute your own voice to the conversation and share your Big Ideas for water innovations.
